Portal is a smart video calling device from Facebook. As part of the Design System team, my role was to expand Visual Systems which included illustrations, icons and animations.
I evolved the existing illustration style to address issues of accessibility, consistency, scaling and diversity. I also updated the illustration guidelines, expanded the library for product designers and engineers, and made a custom set of Adobe Illustrator brushes for all brand and product illustrations.

The illustrations were used throughout OOBE, cards, notifications, the website and mobile app. The goal was to add delight to the user experience, and provide education about the hardware and new features. I also worked on various complimentary illustration styles for the Brand team.
While on the Portal team, I designed numerous product icons and app icons. The product icons had filled and outlined versions to reflect active and inactive states. All icons were added to Figma libraries, and I created guidelines for design and usage.
